Rodger, a veteran of the United Stated Marine Corp, had worked in the construction industry after honorably leaving the military. After several years managing production, selling construction supplies and tools, and other leadership roles, Rodger decided to find success with a business of his own. So, he founded Idaho Tool & Equipment in 1981 in Nampa, Idaho. Rodger brought on Bob Morton as his lead salesperson and Idaho Tool & Equipment was off and running.
After approximately 7 years Rodger made Bob a partner and they continued to build on the success they had. Over the coming years they continued to grow which required numerous remodels to their original store as well as the addition of two warehouses to support their growth and customer needs. In 2015 Rodger decided to retire and Bob bought out Rodger’s share of the business and took over as President and Owner. In 2019 Bob decided to retire. In February 2020 he sold the business to Brandon and Jackie Guthrie who saw an opportunity to continue to build on the legacy he and Rodger started and take Idaho Tool & Equipment forward, hopefully for another 40 years!
Today, Idaho Tool & Equipment continues to be a veteran owned, Idaho based company.
